i had a really lazy weekend with only 3 pages
to show for any schoolwork completed
{and that's 3 out of a lot of pages that need to be written},
but i like to think that some of my other activities
were just as important...if not more so.
activities such as strolling the farmers' market absentmindedly
with a friend, hot coffee in hand and plenty to chat about.

making a delicious chickpea, sweet potato, spinach curry combo. compiling love notes to be shipped off to afghanistan. meeting a friend's parents while enjoying a homemade brunch. and, perhaps most importantly, sweating my tail off at hot yoga.
i may not have been as industrious in the school realm,
but during the sarvangasana (shoulderstand) i felt my toes
touch the ground behind my head and i felt productive.
it felt like all of my organs were rearranging
and getting a good shake,
and that sense of shuffling felt cleansing.
so let's not talk about the rainy, coooold,
and miserable monday morning that started off
with a dead car battery and a belated arrival at my

let's not mention the fact that i left my freshly brewed,
soothing mug of coffee in the car that would not start.
or that i got a $50 ticket because it was street cleaning day today

and i could not physically move that stubborn vehicle off the street.
no, let's not talk about it.
because, as my dad said, "sorry, kiddo, but that's life."
...and because my body ached in all of the best ways today and i'll take that. that is a good thing.
