milwaukee dates {or "a decent guide to eating in this city"}.

during this pregnancy i've really wanted to make sure andy & i spend good time with each other. to be honest, i'm really sad it won't just be the two of us anymore (i really like that man!)...and, although i know we'll be crazy about this new little person...i can't help but feel a tiny bit bummed that our attention will be split a little more and--inevitably, as everyone says--we'll have to put more focsued, intentional energy into our relationship due to all the changes. we'll be fine, it'll all be fine, but it's definitely not my favorite part of this big life change. it may sound selfish, but i guess it's just where i'm at on the cusp of this transition. have i mentioned i really like that man?

anyway, we've tried to really soak up these last few months together and get out in our city to visit favorite restaurants and explore some new ones. there are still a couple on my mental list (and we only have two weeks to go!), but here are some that we've been able to enjoy in the last several months:

-back to odd duck to celebrate our wedding anniversary. a favorite, a staple, somewhat of an anniversary tradition now.

{crappy phone photos. our 2nd wedding anniversary, october 8th, almost 5 months pregnant}

-all purpose two weeks ago to celebrate andy passing the level one CFA test!

-wolf peach with dear friends who were in town. we sat next to the window and had an incredible view of downtown.

-blue jacket with another great couple. we enjoyed the food, but decided it's probably best as a happy hour/cocktail locale.

-allium: for a long & lingering dinner on new year's eve with two of our favorites. it ended up being a perfect, cozy spot for a special night.

-the noble...just because...for a tuesday night, winter dinner date before a december marquette basketball game. only downside was the cold air that blew in every time the door opened. a very quaint, cozy space.

-cafĂ© centro in riverwest for an autumn double date. we had prime real estate with a spot right by the front window. always a great choice for delicious pasta.

-the newly resurrected pizza man (twice)...once with my parents when they were in town in october and another "just because" tuesday evening dinner date. it's great that this is now just a few blocks away from our house!

-palomino & lulu's for sunday brunch: enjoyed with great friends at both spots.

-and, of course, some weekend morning alterra (excuse me, i mean *cough* collectivo) dates. hoping to squeeze in a couple more of these, too!
