i was particularly emotional this weekend.
hormonal.
(let's call it what it is.)
we've been really lucky to have some of my family visit lately:
my dad last sunday and this weekend my brother was in town.
after some minor marital tension
(caused, in part, by a broken, overflowing toilet)...
and after saying good bye to my brother...
(i hate saying goodbye to family)
and after apologizing to andy & explaining my side of the aforementioned rubbing-of-nerves situation,
i just started crying.
sitting on the kitchen radiator. second day in a row.
we had gone back & forth about going out & grabbing brunch
("but we have so much food here, that we just bought"...etc.)
and andy, knowing he had a weepy + hot mess of a wife on his hands,
gently said, "well, what are you thinking? what do you want to do?"
face in hands, i replied,
"i dunno, i just wannnna crryyyyy."
this was the situation, people. you know the sad bastard scene.
he said: "we're going to brunch! put your coat on!"
i asked him to give me 10 minutes.
i put on some mascara, a sweater dress, a chunky cardigan, and wool boot socks.
twenty minutes later we were enjoying steaming cups of delicious local coffee,
followed by a great discussion of professional/future goals with a side of hash & breakfast burrito.
he knew what we all know:
sometimes you just need to get out, breathe the {freezing} fresh air, and start the day over again.
