a dear friend reminded me yesterday just what a year it's
been since my last birthday:
a master's
a marriage
2 moves
leaving the army life
& a new job
not bad for 365 days!
luckily it hasn't felt too overwhelming...
i'm actually pretty amazed to think about all the changes that have happened since last march.
{and i can't believe all that's changed & happened since this birthday!}
it feels so awesome to be where we are now, though,
and i think that's why we can look back on the last year
with a "damn" & some chuckles.
the big 2-7 was lovely, hopefully an indication of the 364 days to come.
a long work day, but a fabuuuulous dinner date with my main squeeze.
i think my favorite part, though, was coming home with every intention
to put on pajamas and do some couch lounging...
...instead, we were both instantly involved in separate pages
of the new york times, sections strewn across our ottoman,
reading silently. shoes & jackets still on.
that quiet silence...that unspoken understanding & shared delight...
that's when you know you made the best decision of your life.
better than a lifetime of birthday gifts.
