sleepy soldier, ugly couch, and a clean slate.

so we had this really ugly couch.

and we tried to slipcover it a couple of times...and it didn't work.

didn't fit right, didn't look right.

...and then we kind of gave up and were lazy and just gave in to the ugliness. we told ourselves this was just a temporary abode after all.

now our t.v. is propped up on a cooler, the ugly couches are sold (thank you, craigslist, for allowing us to receive a crisp $100 bill for something we didn't like anyway!), and 4 bags are being hauled off to the goodwill today.

i LOVE getting rid of stuff. i love having garage sales and making money off of things we don't need. i sold 4 pairs of shoes and bought one fabulous pair with some of the garage sale earnings...and it feels goood!

the captain and i have cleared out a lot of hand-me-down furniture and the remnants of our college apartments. the plan is to invest in some new furniture upon his return to the states. these are the couches that are {already} catching my eye:

{neutrals and blue/greys...which i definitely have a thing for.}
